Alan Gilbey is a screenwriter, show developer and script consultant specialising in animation. 

Projects that he scripted have won many awards, including two Baftas, two Royal Television Society awards, a Pulcinella, a British Animation Award and a Leo, the Canadian equivalent of an Emmy.

He has created original content for major studios on both sides of the Atlantic, including Aardman, Cosgrove Hall, The Disney Channel, Universal Pictures and Fox, as well as co-producing several series of his own, acting as head writer and show runner.

Well known in the U.K. industry, he is screenwriting consultant on several of Channel Four’s animation schemes and and regularly runs workshops for the National Film School, the National Media Museum and at festivals.

Outside of animation Alan has been a cartoonist, a stand-up comic and a radio and stage dramatist. He still performs occasionally leading acclaimed comedy history walks around his native East End - and these form the basis of his first book, which was recently commissioned by Quartet.
